Simactricals, a startup incubated at the Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC), IIT Kanpur, is making waves in the electric vehicle (EV) industry with its groundbreaking wireless charging technology. Founded in October 2020 by Mihir Mishra and Balaji Sriram, Simactricals has recently announced the successful raising of INR 75 lakh through the SanchiConnect pre-seed cohort program, marking a significant milestone in its journey towards innovation and sustainability.
Innovative Approach to EV Technology
At the core of Simactricals’ mission is its commitment to revolutionizing the EV charging experience. The startup’s flagship product, a sophisticated wireless charging system, is designed to cater to a diverse range of electric vehicles, including 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers, 4-wheelers, warehouse bots, rovers, and drones. Unlike traditional charging methods that often involve swapping batteries or dealing with incompatible connectors, Simactricals’ cutting-edge technology offers seamless charging experiences, eliminating critical pain points for EV users across India.
Rapid Development and Expansion
Simactricals’ journey began with the ambitious goal of developing its first prototype within an unprecedented 45-day timeframe. The initial project focused on creating a wireless charging solution for DRDO drones, showcasing the startup’s agility and innovation in addressing real-world challenges. This early success served as a catalyst for Simactricals’ expansion into the broader EV ecosystem.
Currently, the startup is actively collaborating with leading 2-wheeler and 3-wheeler manufacturers on five Proof of Concepts (POCs) to demonstrate the efficacy of its wireless charging infrastructure. Moreover, Simactricals has already made significant strides in the commercial sector, supplying wireless chargers for Powergrid rovers and drones tasked with monitoring the grids.
Vision for the Future
Mihir Mishra, Founder and Director of Simactricals, expressed the company’s vision for the future, stating, “Simactricals is driven by a passion for innovation and a commitment to simplifying the electric vehicle charging experience. Our wireless charging technology represents a leap forward in convenience and efficiency, making it easier than ever for EV owners to power up.”
